There is a fun parade on Saint Patrick´s day celebrated March 17 in honor of the anniversary of the death of Saint Patrick, the patron Saint of Ireland.
For such a special occasion, we all did some different activities in class. To start with, the previous days we created a unique atmosphere, learning the principal characteristics and symbols of this feast. We also decorated the corridor covering it with shamrocks, leprechauns, Irish flags, rainbows… and we even did a treasure hunt since there were some questions on the corridor wall about Saint Patrick’s Day which we answered in order to find the pot of treasure at the end of the rainbow, as the legend says. Surprisingly, the pot was full of chocolate coins!
Not forgetting the importance of the colour green on that day, children and teachers dressed in green, wearing hats, bows, masks, ties, T-shirts, bracelets, necklaces…each one in his or her own style!
Everything was worth it to feel how Irish people celebrate this famous festival known around the world and to introduce children into the Anglo-Saxon culture!
Sure they enjoyed and learned a lot!!
